If so, Richard Branson’s Virgin Galatic is taking reservations for 2 1/2 hour suborbital flights beginning in 2011. Each flight will feature about five minutes of weightlessness. So far, about 300 people have either paid the entire $200,000 fare or have placed a deposit of at least $20,000. Read more
Florida judges and lawyers can't 'friend' each other on social networking sites
In a ruling last month from the Florida’s Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee, judges and lawyers can no longer ‘friend’ each other on social networking sites. Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn were mentioned specifically in the ruling, but it was not limited to those sites. The committee did rule that judges can have lawyers as “fans”. A judge may also post comments and such on another judge’s page on a social networking site, assuming the material does not otherwise violate the Code of Judicial Conduct, according to the committee. Tiger Woods is paying a high price for playing the 19th hole
The Tiger Woods saga continues. I thought that I could keep the lothario out of my blog, but the impact of Tiger’s escapades go far beyond the salacious tabloid fodder.
The latest count of Tiger’s alleged concubines stands at 11 as of this very moment, but this figure is subject to change. In his apology, Tiger makes no admission of marital infidelity.
Forbes recently declared that Tiger was the first athlete to attain a billion dollars in earnings, mostly through product endorsements. Since this scandal broke, Tiger’s TV ads have disappeared, although his sponsors have yet to officially drop him. Read more
Google suing "Google Money" scammers
Google posted an entry in its blog that it had filed suit this week against Pacific WebWorks and several other unnamed defendants. Google has an issue with its name and logo being used in advertisements such as “Use Google to make 1000s of Dollars!” and “Easy Cash with Google: You could be Making up to $978 a Day Working from home!” Google states that it hasn’t created or endorsed any of the sites like those described in their complaint. In its blog, Google said, “thousands of people have been tricked into sending payment information and being charged hidden fees by questionable operations.” Read more
GoodGuide has serious ethical issues
Maybe your life has been really hectic over the last few days and you missed the media frenzy that GoodGuide, the consumer watchdog group, created over its assertion that the white hot Zhu Zhu Pets were unsafe.
