CareerBuilder: Employers will increase hiring in 2010

According to a new forecast from CareerBuilder.com, employers are expecting to increase hiring in 2010.  20% of companies expect to be adding headcount in 2010, up from 14% last year.  CareerBuilder surveyed more than 2,700 hiring managers and human resource professionals nationwide across industries in compiling their data.

Regionally, 24% of  employers in the West say they plan to add full-time workers in 2010, compared to 21 percent in the Northeast, 20 percent in the South and 16 percent in the Midwest.  Hiring is expected to increase in information technology, manufacturing, financial services, professional and business services, and sales in 2010.  Most companies surveyed planned to give their employees small pay increases.
