Cadillac announced plans to start producing the CTS Coupe this coming Spring.  The new variation of the popular CTS sedan will be sold as a 2011 model.  According to Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager, the 2011 CTS Coupe’s design is “virtually unchanged” from the concept version shown at the 2008 Detroit auto show.  The coupe is four inches shorter in height than the sedan it is based on.

It’s hard to say what the final specifications of the 2011 CTS Coupe will be, but here are some highlights from Cadillac’s announcement of the CTS Coupe C0ncept:

  • 3.6L Direct Injection V6 churning out 304 horsepower.
  • Available 2.9L turbo diesel producing 250 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
  • 6 speed manual transmission available.
  • 20 inch front and 21 inch rear wheels.
  • XLR-type hidden door handles with proximity remote opening.
  • Taillamps with a subtle fin profile and are highlighted with LED lighting technology with light pipes.

The new 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe will be on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this week.
