November 30, 2009 · Posted in Commentary
Ford announced a new V6 for their Mustang for the 2011 model year. Ever since its introduction, the new Chevrolet Camaro has been outselling the Mustang. Equipped with a 304 horsepower 3.6L engine, the Camaro’s V6 easily outpowers and squeezes more miles out of a gallon of gas than Mustang’s current 4.0L V6 offering. Mustang’s new 3.7L V6 will put out 305 horses and deliver 30 mpg on the highway vs 29 mpg for the Camaro’s V6. The 2011 Mustang V6 will be available in either a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic.
