Ford introduces inflatable seat belts

Ford announced today that they will be bringing inflatable seat belts to the new generation Ford Explorer next year, an industry first. The new generation Ford Explorer goes into production next year. The inflatable seat belts will be for back seat passengers. According to Ford’s news release, children and older passengers are particularly vulnerable to injuries caused by traditional seat belts.
