It’s a sign of the current economic times.  Double digit unemployment has affected all social demographics, including single people.  Being single and unemployed presents unique challenges.  First off, you don’t have a spouse’s income to fall back on as most married couples do.  You can also experience great difficulties socially.  Many women won’t date an unemployed man, plus you might not be able to afford to socialize with friends. Unemployment unexpectedly falls to 10% in November

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate fell to 10.0% in November, the biggest decline in three years. Only 11,000 jobs were lost last month, surprising many economists.

Unemployment hits 10.2% for October. What's behind that number?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate jumped to 10.2% in October, the highest figure since April, 1983.  Of the 190,000 jobs lost, the largest losses were in construction, manufacturing, and retail trade.
