Case-Shiller Index: Home prices down 1.0% In November

Home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas fell 1.0% in November, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index. This was the fourth consecutive monthly drop. Every Metropolitan Area experienced a price drop with the exception of San Diego gaining 0.1%.  Detroit was the biggest loser suffering a drop of 2.7% over the previous month. The biggest overall loser in this current market downturn continues to be Las Vegas where prices are off 57.2% from their peak. Overall, home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas are down 30.3% from their July, 2006 peak .

Case-Shiller Index: Home prices down 1.3% In October

Home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas fell 1.3% in October, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index. This was the third consecutive monthly drop. Every Metropolitan Area experienced a price drop, with Las Vegas losing the least at 0.2%.  Atlanta was the  biggest loser suffering a drop of 2.9% over the previous month. The biggest overall loser in this current market downturn continues to be Las Vegas where prices are off 57.0% from their peak. Overall, home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas are down 29.6% from their July, 2006 peak .

Case-Shiller Index: Home prices down 0.7% In September

Home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas fell 0.7% in September, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index. This was the second consecutive drop. The big winner was Washington D.C. with an anemic 0.3% increase over August.  Cleveland was the biggest loser suffering a drop of 3.0% over the previous month. The biggest overall loser in this current market downturn continues to be Las Vegas where prices are off 56.9% from their peak. Overall, home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas are down 28.6% from their July, 2006 peak .

Case-Shiller Index: Home prices down 0.2% In August

Home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas fell 0.2% in August, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index. This  drop ended four months of consecutive price increases. The big winner for a second month is a row was Detroit with a 0.5% increase over June.  Phoenix was the biggest loser suffering a drop of 1.3% over the previous month. The biggest overall loser in this current market downturn continues to be Las Vegas where prices are off 57.0% from their peak. Overall, home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas are down 28.1% from their July, 2006 peak .

Home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas rose 0.6% in July, according to the Standard & Poor’s Case-Shiller Index. This was the fourth consecutive monthly increase. The big winner was Detroit with a 1.6% increase over May. Las Vegas was the biggest loser suffering a drop of 0.8% over the previous month. The biggest loser in this current market downturn continues to be Las Vegas where prices are off 57.0% from their peak. Overall, home prices in the Top 20 Metropolitan Areas are down 27.9% from their July, 2006 peak .
